THE FOX AND THE FEATHER
Our latest stop was at the Fox and the Feather on Elgin St in Ottawa for some half price, half enjoyable nachos.
Total Score: 2/5
Portion Value: We cheated here and got them during their half price hours so they were less than $7 but honestly, that is about all they are worth anyways.
Topping Quality: Nacho chips topped with tomatoes, onions, green peppers, green and black olives, banana peppers, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Served with sour cream and salsa. These toppings are nothing to blog about...so I won't.
Topping distribution: No naked chips here so they did very well here.
Chip Quality: These nachos were dry. What I mean here is that you feel the need to dip every chip in salsa or sour cream or wash down each bite with a beer or beverage of choice. That is not good. The store bought chips were a main contributing factor to the dryness.
Presentation: They weren't beautiful, they weren't ugly. The best way to describe them is: You have won second prize in a beauty contest, collect $10.
Overall Impression: Do NOT pay full price for these nachos. If you happen to be around during the half price hours, give these guys a whirl!
